Biography

Brian Santero, of the Curtis Institute of Music, has performed as a solo trombonist as well as a chamber and orchestral musician throughout the Eastern United States. He currently performs with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the New England Conservatory's Sinfonietta and was principal trombone with the New York Youth Symphony Orchestra. Brian is currently a member of the Mimesis chamber ensemble in New York City.

Brian has been the recipient of several honors and awards. Brian is a winner of the Level II Award from NFAA ArtsWeek, a week-long art gala, designed to promote the US's upcoming musicians, and fine and visual artists. Most recently he was a recipient of the major Donald Sanders Trombone Scholarship Award from NEC, and a fellowship from the Curtis Institute of Music.

Brian's teachers include Nitzan Haroz of the Philadelphia Orchestra, James Markey of the New York Philharmonic, Norman Bolter of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Matt Guilford of the National Symphony Orchestra. Other teachers of his include Paul Bellino and Michael Boschen.
